Frequently asked questions

Straight answers for UK small businesses and startups. If something is not covered here, contact us —we reply within one business day.

Do you only work with businesses in the UK?

Yes. Shoreline Systems serves small businesses and startups based in the United Kingdom. We focus on UK hosting, data protection expectations, and language that fits your customers here. We do not take on projects that require primary delivery outside the UK.

We do not have a website yet—is that a problem?

No. Many clients come to us before they have any site at all. We help you decide which pages you need, what to say on each one, and how visitors should contact or buy from you. You can start with a small brochure site and grow later.

How much does a new website cost?

Cost depends on the number of pages, design depth, integrations like forms or booking tools, and whether you need a full rewrite or a first simple launch. After a short brief we provide a clear written estimate for UK-based work—no guessing games.

How long does a project take?

A focused brochure site often takes a few weeks from agreed content and brand direction. Larger redesigns or sites with custom features take longer. You receive a timeline with milestones before work starts.

Will my site work on phones and be found on Google?

We build mobile-first, performance-conscious pages and follow sensible technical SEO (structure, speed, metadata). Ranking also depends on your market competition and ongoing content; we set a solid baseline and can advise on next steps.

Can you replace our Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress.com site?

Yes. If you have outgrown a DIY builder or need better performance and ownership, we plan migration, redirects where needed, and a design that matches where your business is today—not where it was when the old site was built.

Do you offer AI consultancy and development?

Yes. We help UK businesses decide where AI is worth investing, then build production features—copilots grounded in your content, workflow automations, semantic search, and integrations with your site or web app. See our AI services page for scope, FAQs, and how we handle data protection.

Can you add AI to a website you build for us?

Often yes. Assistants, smarter search, and draft-and-review workflows can be scoped alongside a new site or app so architecture, hosting, and governance stay coherent. We will flag when a standalone tool or your existing CRM is the better first step.
